भारतीय मूल के ब्रिटिश उपन्यासकार संजीव सहोटा इस साल के प्रतिष्ठित बुकर पुरस्कार की काल्पनिक कथा की श्रेणी के अपने उपन्यास 'चाइना रूम' के लिए नामित हुए हैं।

उनके साथ इस साल कुल 13 लोगों को नामित किया गया है जिसमें नोबेल विजेता काजू इशिगुरो और पुलित्जर पुरस्कार विजेता रिचर्ड पावर्स भी शामिल हैं।

वर्ष 2015 में भी सहोटा के उपन्यास 'द ईयर ऑफ रनअवेज' को बुकर पुरस्कार के लिए नामित किया जा चुका है। उन्हें वर्ष 2017 में साहित्य के लिए यूरोपीय यूनियन के पुरस्कार से भी नवाजा गया था। संजीव सहोटा के उपन्यास 'चाइना रूम' को वर्ष 2020 के अक्टूबर और 2021 सितंबर के बीच ब्रिटेन और आयरलैंड में प्रकाशित 158 अंग्रेजी उपन्यासों में से चुना गया है।

सहोटा के अलावा, बुकर पुरस्कार के नामित उपन्यासों की 2021 की सूची में जापानी मूल के ब्रिटिश लेखक काजू इशीगोरा की 'लारा एंड द सन' को भी शामिल किया गया है। इसके अलावा दक्षिण अफ्रीकी लेखक डेमन गैलुट की 'द प्रामिस' और अमेरिकी लेखक रिचर्ड्स पावर की 'बिवाइल्डरमेंट' को भी नामित किया गया है।

156- प्रदेश में पुराने सरकारी जन उपयोगी भवनों की मरम्मत के लिए ’बिल्डिंग इन्फ्रा मेन्टिनेंस फण्ड’ से कितनी राशि खर्च की जाएगी -

A- 100 करोड़ रुपए

प्रदेश में पुराने सरकारी जन उपयोगी भवनों की मरम्मत के लिए ’बिल्डिंग इन्फ्रा मेन्टिनेंस फण्ड’ बनाया जाएगा।

इस फण्ड के माध्यम से आगामी दो वर्षाें में करीब 500 करोड़ रूपए के कार्य ऎसे जन उपयोगी भवनों में कराए जाएंगे जिन्हें मरम्मत की आवश्यकता है। मुख्यमंत्री राज्य सरकार ने वर्ष 2021-22 की बजट घोषणा के तहत गठित होेने वाले इस फण्ड के संचालन के लिए जारी होने वाले दिशा-निर्देशों के प्रारूप को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस फण्ड का संचालन वित्त (व्यय) विभाग द्वारा किया जाएगा।

157- राज्य बजट वर्ष 2021-22 में ट्रांसजेंडर समुदाय के लिए उत्थान कोष में कितनी राशि की व्यवस्था की गई है -

राज्य बजट वर्ष 2021-22 में ट्रांसजेंडर समुदाय के लिए 10 करोड़ रूपए की राशि से उत्थान कोष बनाने की घोषणा की थी। इसके लिए राज्य सरकार ने  8.98 करोड़ रूपए स्वीकृत किए गए है। इसके माध्यम से राज्य के पुलिस महानिदेशक कार्यालय में ट्रांसजेंडर सुरक्षा प्रकोष्ठ (सेल) गठित किया जाना प्रस्तावित है।

इस सेल का मुख्य कार्य ट्रांसजेंडर (ऊभयलिंगी) व्यक्तियों के अधिकारों का संरक्षण एवं उनको सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के अलावा राज्य स्तरीय ट्रांसजेंडर न्याय बोर्ड और जिला ट्रांसजेंडर न्याय समितियों के बीच समन्वय करना होगा। यह प्रकोष्ठ ट्रांसजेंडर के विरूद्ध अपराधों की रोकथाम, निगरानी तथा इससे जुड़े मामलों को समय पर पंजीकृत कर जांच और अभियोजन सुनिश्चित करने का काम करेगा।

कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड (सीआईएल) ने ओवरबर्डन से बहुत ही सस्ती कीमत पर रेत का उत्पादन करने वाली अनूठी पहल की शुरूआत की है।

इससे न केवल ओवरबर्डन से रेत गाद के कारण होने वाले पर्यावरण प्रदूषण में कमी लाने में सहायता मिलेगी, बल्कि निर्माण कार्य के लिए सस्ती रेत प्राप्त करने का एक विकल्प भी प्राप्त होगा।

कोयले की खुली खुदाई के दौरान, कोयले की परत के ऊपर के स्तर को ओवरबर्डन के रूप में जाना जाता है, जो मिट्टी के जलोढ़ रेत और बलुआ पत्थर के साथ समृद्ध सिलिका सामग्री से युक्त होता है। नीचे से कोयला निकालने और छांटने के लिए ओवरबर्डन को हटाया जाता है। कोयला निकालने की प्रक्रिया पूरा होने के बाद, ओवरबर्डन का उपयोग भूमि को उसके मूल आकार में लाने के लिए बैक फिलिंग कार्य के लिए किया जाता है।

यह बेहतर गुणवत्ता वाली रेत बाजार मूल्य के लगभग 10% दर पर उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। इस प्रयास से न केवल समाज को बड़े पैमाने पर सहायता प्राप्त होगी बल्कि नदी तल से रेत खनन में कमी लाने में भी मदद मिलेगी।

इस प्रकार के रूपांतरण की शुरूआती पहल सीआईएल की एक सहायक कंपनी, वेस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (डब्ल्यूसीएल) द्वारा की गई है।

परियोजना की भारी सफलता और सस्ते रेत की बढ़ती हुई मांग को देखते हुए, डब्ल्यूसीएल द्वारा नागपुर के पास देश की सबसे बड़ी रेत उत्पादन संयंत्र को चालू करके वाणिज्यिक उत्पादन शुरू किया गया है।

अब तक रूस द्वारा ‘इंटरनेशनल स्पेस स्टेशन’ ‘पीर’ नाम से मॉड्यूल का प्रयोग किया जा रहा था, जिसे मुख्यतः अनुसंधान और डॉकिंग पोर्ट के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता था।

‘नौका’- का अर्थ रूसी भाषा में ‘विज्ञान’ है।

यह रूस की अब तक की सबसे बड़ी अंतरिक्ष प्रयोगशाला है तथा यह मुख्य रूप से एक शोध सुविधा के रूप में काम करेगी।

42 फीट लंबे और 20 टन वज़न वाले इस ‘नौका’ मॉड्यूल को मूलतः वर्ष 2007 की शुरुआत में लॉन्च किया जाना था। हालाँकि कई तकनीकी मुद्दों के कारण इसे अब तक लॉन्च नहीं किया जा सका था।

इस अभ्यास में 12 पूर्वी अफ्रीकी देशों, यूएस, यूके, भारत और विभिन्न अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठनों जैसे अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुद्री संगठन (आईएमओ), ड्रग्स एंड क्राइम पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र कार्यालय (यूएनओडीसी), इंटरपोल, यूरोपियन यूनियन नेवल फोर्स (यूनावफोर) की भागीदारी शामिल है।

इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य कानून प्रवर्तन क्षमता में सुधार करना, क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा को बढ़ावा देना अंतर पश्चिमी हिंद महासागर में अवैध समुद्री गतिविधि को रोकने के उद्देश्य से भाग लेने वाले देशों के सशस्त्र बलों के बीच अंतर संचालन को बढ़ावा देना है।

समुद्री डोमेन जागरूकता के संबंध में विभिन्न भागीदार देशों के बीच सूचना साझाकरण और सूचना प्रवाह भी भारत के सूचना संलयन केंद्र- हिन्द महासागर क्षेत्र (आईएफसी-आईओआर) के अभ्यास और भागीदारी का एक प्रमुख फोकस है, जो इसे प्राप्त करने में योगदान देगा।

British Indian-origin novelist Sanjeev Sahota has been nominated for this year's prestigious Booker Prize in the fiction category for his novel 'China Room'.

A total of 13 people have been nominated with him this year, including Nobel laureate Kazu Ishiguro and Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Powers.

In the year 2015 also, Sahota's novel 'The Year of Runaways' has been nominated for the Booker Prize. He was also awarded the European Union's Prize for Literature in the year 2017. Sanjeev Sahota's novel 'China Room' has been selected from 158 English novels published in the UK and Ireland between October 2020 and September 2021.

Besides Sahota, "Lara and the Sun" by Japanese-origin British author Kazu Ishigora has also been included in the 2021 list of Booker Prize-nominated novels. In addition, South African author Damon Gallut's 'The Promise' and American author Richards Power's 'Bewildrement' have also been nominated.

A 'Building Infra Maintenance Fund' will be created for the repair of old public utility buildings in the state.

Through this fund, in the next two years, works worth Rs 500 crore will be done in such public utility buildings which need repair. The Chief Minister, State Government has approved the draft guidelines to be issued for the operation of this fund to be formed under the budget announcement for the year 2021-22. This fund will be operated by the Finance (Expenditure) Department.

Coal India Limited (CIL) has taken a unique initiative to produce sand from overburden at very affordable cost.

This will not only help in reducing the environmental pollution caused by sand siltation from overburden, but will also provide an alternative to getting cheaper sand for construction work.

During open excavation of coal, the level above the coal layer is known as overburden, consisting of clay alluvial sand and sandstone with rich silica content. Overburden is removed for coal extraction and sorting from below. After completion of coal extraction, overburden is used for back filling work to bring the land back to its original shape.

This superior quality sand will be made available at the rate of about 10% of the market price. This effort will not only help the society at large but will also help in reducing sand mining from the river bed.

This type of conversion has been initiated by Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a subsidiary of CIL.

Considering the huge success of the project and the increasing demand for cheap sand, WCL has started commercial production by commissioning the country's largest sand production plant near Nagpur.

It is Russia's largest space laboratory to date and will primarily serve as a research facility.

The 'Nauka' module, 42 feet long and weighing 20 tonnes, was originally scheduled to be launched in early 2007. However, it could not be launched till now due to several technical issues.

The aim of the exercise is to improve law enforcement capability, promote regional security, and promote inter-operability between the armed forces of the participating countries with the aim of preventing illegal maritime activity in the inter-western Indian Ocean.

Information sharing and information flow among various participating countries regarding maritime domain awareness is also a major focus of India's Information Fusion Center - Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) exercise and partnership, which will contribute to achieving this.
