भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों ने मोतियाबिंद के इलाज की सरल, सस्ती और बिना ऑपरेशन के इलाज वाली तकनीक विकसित की है। यह तकनीक भारत सरकार के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के अंतर्गत आने वाले एक स्वायत्त संस्थान नैनो विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईएनएसटी) के वैज्ञानिकों की एक टीम ने गैर-स्टेरॉयडल एंटी-इंफ्लेमेटरी ड्रग (गैर-दाहक या उत्तजेक दवा)-एनएसएआईडी एस्पिरिन से नैनोरोड डेवलप की है।

एस्पिरिन नैनोरोड क्रिस्टलीय प्रोटीन और इसके विखंडन से प्राप्त विभिन्न पेप्टाइड्स के एकत्रीकरण को रोकता है, जो मोतियाबिंद बनने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।

समझौता क्षमता निर्माण, प्रौद्योगिकी हस्तांतरण और IAHE में CATTS की स्थापना के लिए सक्षम वातावरण के निर्माण के लिए एक परियोजना के लिए है।

यशपाल उस विश्व विजेता भारतीय टीम के सदस्य थे, जिसने उस समय की अजेय मानी जाने वाली वेस्टइंडीज की टीम को लॉर्ड्स पर धूल चटाकर यह खिताब जीता था। यशपाल शर्मा को 1983 विश्व कप सेमीफाइनल में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ खेली गई उस अर्धशतकीय पारी के लिए याद किया जाता है, जिसने करोड़ों लोगों की जुबां पर इंडिया-इंडिया का नारा लगवाया था।

वह राष्ट्रीय टीम के चयनकर्ता भी रहे। यशपाल ने वर्ष 1978 में पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ अपना वनडे डेब्यू किया था।यशपाल शर्मा को सात साल के अंतराल में कभी कोई गेंदबाज वनडे क्रिकेट में शून्य पर आउट नहीं कर सका।यशपाल शर्मा ने भारत के लिए कुल 37 टेस्ट मैच खेले, जिसमें उन्होंने 1606 रन बनाए।

कोविड-19 महामारी से उत्‍पन्‍न हुई अप्रत्‍याशित स्थिति को देखते हुए केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों को दिए जाने वाले महंगाई भत्ते (डीए) और पेंशनभोगियों को दी जाने वाली महंगाई राहत (डीआर) की तीन अतिरिक्त किस्तों, जो 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020 और 01.01.2021 से देय थीं, पर रोक (फ्रीज) लगा दी गई थी।
